In another thread, Layne mentions his 413 pistons as being 9.7 to one compression. I am assuming that is for an early 1960's stock engine. My question is: would those be for open or closed chamber heads? I am wondering what the compression ratio would be for those pistons with early 1970's open chamber 440 heads? And I know it would make a difference if it were thin steel head gaskets or the thicker composition gaskets- any input? ..............MO.........sw iowa
