Jack, as far as I can see you have two options, that would be install a  heli 
coil in the striped one, or drill out and tap for next size larger,   the 
coil would be the easiest out on all of it, and probably  retain  balance better, 
or if you know a transmission shop that will work with you, you  might take 
the convertor to them, and have them weld a new tab on the  convertor

i have put the motor some what together.short block  is together, new oil 
pump, oil pan is on.the max wedge heads are on. 727  transmission has been 
rebuilt ready to go on as well getting ready to put the  3000 stall convertor and

them in the gray color.(((((((((what color is it called and  is it the same 
color as the steering box as i would want to paint it as well.
