I had the same idea as Herb. If you can drive your car , many times this
Will work. For a nut splitter. Lisle tools makes these and your local parts
House that sells Lisle should have it.......................MO..............

Their is always the fire wrench. I get the stud hot and blow the stud out
Of the center of the lug nut just before the bottom. Then when it's still
Hot using a socket and long extension break it off or knock it out with a
Punch, that way you wont hurt the wheel. Or pull the hub off the axle with
The drum and burn the back of the studs off. That said, the drums, I once
Had a drum & axle I could not get off and for a last ditch effort I loosened

The axle nut a couple of turns with the wheels & tires on and took it out in

The parking lot and did figure 8s heard both hubs pop pulled in and pulled
Drums & hubs. Be Very Carful doing this and DO NOT remove the axle nut just
Back it off 1/4 inch at the most and have an observer to keep an eye on them

Use antiseize on the splines when reinstalling the hubs for the next
Time!!.

Not only do I have the infamous tapered rear axle spline in my 1964
Dodge Polara, I also have rear wheel studs that rotate when you try to
Take the nuts off! I am dying for ideas here on how to remove the wheel
And brake drum at the same time off these crazy tapered axle. Any and
All suggestions will be very much appreciated! Zack
