Re: 64 Dodge 880 identification numbers

The 1962-64 Dodge 880/Custom 880 model code was "A", not "D". A 1964 Dodge 880 was VA-E while the Custom 880 was VA-L.

The serial number for a 1964 880/Custom 880 (stamped on a plate attached to the driver's door hinge pillar) -

880 sedan - 5143100001 & up
880 wagons - 5543100001 & up

Custom 880 non-wagons - 5243100001 & up
Custom 880 wagons - 5643100001 & up

All 880/Custom 880 models were built at the Jefferson Avenue plant in Detroit. (The "3" in the serial number.)

The 119" wheelbase Dodge serial numbers started with "4" for 6-cylinder engines and "6" for the V8 engine. Except in Canada where the V8 119" wheelbase serial numbers started with "5" and the "6" was not used as the 880/Custom 880 models were not built in Canada.

Where do I find the ID numbers starting with the letter D for 880?
