For what it's worth, I purchased a set of used replacement axles for my 64 Sport Fury, regular gears rear end. Looked the axles over carefully, everything measured up exactly, so I just put them in. Worked fine. /Butch/Ferndale, WA -----Original Message----- From: Kevin Merkley [mailto:krmerkley@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, December 09, 2008 5:27 AM To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: 64 Axles Hi folks, Recently, I removed the axles fromm my wife's 64 Polara 500 and after cleaning them I want to reinstall them but do not know if there is a left and right. There was a single paint mark on one of the axles and writing on both of them. Does it matter which side the axle goes on? I did pay attention to the shims but not the axles. Can anyone help me?
