OK, this is a new thread kind of. We just discussed that swapping in a newer input shaft opens up many more convertor choices. And I know that the ball and trunnion rear can be done away with by using a 72 -up rear section. What about the guts. I have two small block 727s, one from a van and one from a 4x4. I hear tell that the van and 4x4 trannies used beefier pieces and a 4 gear planetary as opposed to a three gear. Thats why I have been keeping these things around, for a possible super-build down the road. are the internals interchangeable betwwen small block 727s and big block 727s.? neal zimmerman, eugene oregon
