Robert, 
Is it "done" at 5500, or are you protecting your investment?  I cant say for sure, as it's been more than a few years, but I'm pretty sure I turned mine harder than that.  I did have a bit more cam than stock.  I think the only big block I've shifted out at 5500 was a bone stock 383.   I wonder what Don D. turns on his?  Still, I wish my '63 could run a 13 !!
