Re: Drag race time conversions

Quarter Aces at Carlisle blurted out the 1.56-1.57 conversion. I checked my 1/8 ets versus the charts and using that number seemed like a pretty good conversion. Also, I do have printed charts from a couple of locations which while they were not exactly the same, were very close to each other.

I'm planning to go racing this Friday at the local 1/8th mile. My friend with a Malibu 350/350 - 4:10 gears, wants to grudge race me. He says he has run 10's there which would be "mid 13's". I have run low 10's which the way I see it would be high 15's. The conversion factor I have is 1/8th mile ET times 1.57 equals 1/4 mile ET. Am I right or not???? 10 secs flat would be 15.7 then. Is there anything relating to MPH? He may be in trouble as I expect to get into the 9's this summer :-)
