Then it seems one way I recall: you loosen the bolt and put a piece of wood to protect the car's paint; then pry off the arm with a screwdriver. You press against the wood and various parts of the underside of the wiper arm where it connects to the stud coming out of the cowl, using the screwdriver like a lever.
