First; it's of little value without vin tags for vehicle, Second; from what I've heard, it isn't legal, but people do it, often. As the other member said, The vehicle in question could have had a lien on it, or worse yet, could have been stolen. Imagine using this to register a similiar vehicle, spending tons of money on a resto, only to have to turn it over to someone who's "plain jane, rust bucket" was stolen 10 years ago! I suppose, one could run a search, if they needed it badly enough.
