Also, have a look at the motor mounts & tranny mount just to make sure there's not too much flex going on. There is also a process for aligning Hurst shifters so the shifter is bang on the money. I don't recall the whole process, but it involves putting a specific sized drill bit through all the shifter mechanism and something else to lock it all in place.
