Bell Housing Alignment

I need help from you guys that have machining knowledge. I've been
running a 1966 bell housing on my '64, and now I'm installing a '64 to
replace it. On page 6-12 & 6-13 of the FSM it states that I'm allowed
.008" bore run-out. It appears that the gage / dial indicator that is
shown is measuring this from the centerline of the crank. I can't get
my dial indicator mounted that way, so I removed a flywheel mounting
bolt and have the magnetic base mounted so that I'm reading the ID of
the housing as I cicle the circumference. With the dial set at zero at
the 4:30 position, I get 0.012" at the 10:30 position. That's the max
reading, so do I have 0.006" or 0.012" of run-out? I've got the MP
offset dowels to correct it, if I need to, but first I need to know if a
correction is actually required. Thanks in advance for any help you
guys can give me...Brian
