Glad you finally found a problem,not that you had one.I can't say for 
sure if that would affect your fingers.I'd have the flywheel resurfaced 
and start fresh with a new assembly if it were me.But,YOU may actually 
enjoy R&R the tranny.At least you don't have to remove and teardown a 
new motor with 400 miles because of a ring problem.
