Butch, My Service Tech Manual says to-1. With the door in the open position, place a jack, with a block of wood
or pad on the lifting plate of the jack, as near the hinge as possible (this will hold the weight of the door as the hinge bolts are loosened).2. scribe a line around the hinge plates on the "A" post and also door panel.
Then remove the hinge attaching screws from the "A" post and remove the door for further disassembly.Install the door the same way with the hinges attached to the door panel, jack underneath, then locate the hinge plates on the body "A" post and install
screws finger tight.then adjust the jack to help align the hinge plates with the scribe marks and tighten
the attaching screws.then complete the aligning procedure from there. adjusting the door striker etc...
hope this helps. Schuyler Schuyler 62 Dodge Dart 440 wagon w/ Poly 318 <http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.org/ml-wrobel62.html>FYI - I Do the Decal designs for the Poly head 318 and more! email me with your needs -

I sent my door hinges out to be refurbished. When I get them back, I'll need to install them and adjust the doors for looks and ease of use. It looks to me like the best way to reinstall the hinges is to put them onthe car first, then the doors. Sound right? I figure on loosening the door latching mechanism on the car, get the door looking right in the hole, then start tightening the hinge and door hardware, testing as I go.While this all sounds reasonable to me, I've never done this before, sowould appreciate any advice I can get from those of you who have. Thanks/Butch/ Ferndale, WA Mopar...if you have to ask, you'll never understand.
