I've always used a thin skim of Permatex "Ultra Copper" on both sides of my VC gaskets and never had any problems. Also, don't over torque (obviously) and make sure the mating surface is flat @ the bolt holes...they tend to get pushed out may need a few love taps to be corrected. I've got both stamped valve covers leaking on my 440. Just how does one go about getting them to stop leaking? It looks like double gasket will work but that's kinda chicken poop way to do it. What it take to get them flat - any pointers? Akron Don ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
