steering column coupling

I'm about to replace that bracket that goes over the rubber seal on the 
steering column coupling.  It has about six tangs that need to be bent 
over, like every old Mopar I've ever seen.  How do I keep the bracket 
flat and straight and tight, while bending over its tangs properly?
I never could seem to get it right.
