Our local Oklahoma Mopar club discussed the event this last weekend at our monthly meeting. We discussed trying to get some area participation for a Mopar gathering on Friday night since the unearthing of the 57 Plymouth was on Friday, the 15th. We considered having a cruise to the Admiral Twin drive-in in Tulsa on Friday night. I know this drive-in was used when the Power tour came through Tulsa a few years ago. I think the 57 Plymouth is suppose to be on display at the Tulsa Convention Center between 7 - 8:30 PM and the drive-in shouldn't start until 9 PM. It would be great if they would show some Mopar movies ( such as Christine, Vanishing Point, etc. ) but I don't know if we could get that done or not. We'd be interested in meeting on Saturday night too. Maybe my Savoy will be ready by then. Gary On 1/31/07, William Lewis <reatawhippets@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Hi Gary H and folks, For those going to the June 15 Tulsa unearthing of the '57 Plymouth Belvedere hardtop, Dave Stragand of the ForwardLook website and list has a question regarding interest in a multi-club event on the Saturday evening in Tulsa (Jun 16). Gary, don't know how you would want to handle the response to Dave, funnel club house member interest through you or direct to Dave? Hi All, As June 15th rapidly approaches, I know members of our various clubs have already made plans to attend the unearthing of the 1957 Plymouth 'time capsule' buried in Tulsa, OK (www.buriedcar.com). The Doubletree told me they have over 230 rooms reserved under the "Forward Look" discount code, so it's likely to be a big event. Is anyone interested in exploring the possibility of a joint Saturday night banquet, gathering, or the like as a combined multi-club event somewhere? Have any of you perhaps already organized an event for your group? Perhaps we could get a ballroom at one of the hotels for appetizers or a cash bar, or something that requires little preparation, no pre-registration, and few hassles? I'm interested in what y'all might think. I've included leaders from the Forward Look, Golden Fin Society, WPC Club, NCPC, POC, the Chrysler 300 Clubs, IML, MML and others on this email. Feel free to pass this on to other clubs / club leaders as well. Please let me know what you think. If anyone has experience setting up an event like this, please let me know as well. Thanks! -Dave PS - I found the full agenda of the events in a PDF at http://www.buriedcar.com/imgUL/tulsarama%20open%20show%20v4.pdf Dave Stragand Web Site/Mailing List/Events Coordinator The Forward Look Network http://www.forwardlook.net [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
