Your diff already takes a 741 pot and posi with no trouble. if you want to get rid of the tapered axles for some reason (they wont break by the way. i know cause i have tried!) get Moser or Bear or MW to make you a set of Street axles with the so called green bearings (non tapered self centering) and you are done , forever! i run the stock 63 tapered axles a 741 diff with a cone type posi in my 63 MW 426. I have a 3800 converter and 3:91 gears with 30.5 inch tall tires and i pound the living daylights out of it everytime i go for a drive (when the wife isnt along ;>) since the year 2000.
