Dave: it was always a dark bluish gray, semi-gloss to gloss.I'm convinced its original as this was a dry CA car and the color is on the firewall plate which supports the master cyl, the K frame, the struts, and the lower control arm main assembly. Its not black and is (still) fairly shiny in some areas, and is not at all like flat gray primer.
