well crap,   i guess that fuel had to  get in there thru the rings, so
maybe i better check the rings too.
  As to the Mr gasket  set, the price was cheap, I am not particularly
  worried about gaskets other than the head gaskets, but i just dont
  know  who makes good head gaskets  for the 273 or what material they
  should be of.
  the kit was cheap enough( 37.00)/jegs) that even if I need to buy
  different  head gaskets i am still ahead of the game  with all the
  other gaskets.
  i hate cars!
