Re: Travel (lot)

I won my 65 Dart wagon via eBay and had it transported from CA to VA - so thats around 3000 miles give or take a few. Wife and I would have flown out and driven it back but time constraints with a new job forced me to have it transported. Also won a 65 Valiant convertible via eBay and drove it home from NJ.

My 65 Belvedere convertible I bought on ebay came from Illinois in 2004. I
used Northern Lights Express, Steve Johnson, 812-275-0281, located in
Bedford, IN. Cost me about a thousand dollars portal to portal. Don Hudson
recommended them to me and in case I never said thanks Don, THANKS!!
I posted during bidding and asked for anyone close and Don Schrader offered
to go take her for a spin and check her out (This is one of the greatest
parts of belonging to this group). Thanks Don!!
Then I bought it. So my 65 came 1100 miles to be with me.
My 64 came from ebay as well in 2004 but the seller was in NH so I just
drove 40 miles north and scooped her up, 39K original with original tires,
exhaust, spare and hoses.

I also bought a 65 Belv in York, PA from a scumbag who I'd like to kill
(Donald Moates, STAY AWAY), went and got an AT from Uhaul and got it myself
and another 65 from TN but I can't seem to find who transported it, they
were great though. Jimmy Peavey turned me onto that one after the York
fiasco.

It's really not a huge amount of money and as long as you check them out,
the ones I solicited were eager to do it and provide references. I'd do it
again, pretty painless.

Tom

Harold,
I bought my '64 off Ebay. I then had it transported from L.A. California to
Denver, Colorado (Door to Door). $900 - $1200 range if memory serves my
right. This was 5 years ago...

Has anyone traveled a long distance to get their 62-65
Mopar?
I keep finding cars that fit the bill of what I am
looking for, but the problem is they are usually 1500
miles away. The most recent and probably the best car
ever (described by owner-haven't seen the pics yet) is
roughly 2000 miles one way.
I did find two at about 500 miles from me, but after
contacting the guy 4 or 5 times, he doesn't seem
interested in sending me pics or contact me at all. I
even told him if they were good for what I want, I
would buy both of them. What more can I say?
Oh well, sorry to bore you guys with my rants and
raves. But I am interested if anyone traveled very far
to get their car and how far. Another thing, who
actually waited the longest to finally find the car
they bought?
OK, OK, I'm done now.
Thanks guys.
