First off there is no dumb or ignorant question. The only one is the one
not asked when you do not know. l Now most line's from a 727 will be
usuable from the trans toward the rad. You should be able to make them
work if from a E body or even a A body that has a 904. Lines are pretty
much the sam.e

I hate to ask questions on this site because it shows my ignorance...but
here goes.
I have a 63 Valiant with a 318/727 combo installed by the previous owner.
The transmission lines already on the car are cobbled together and
dangerous too. Both front and rear lines come out of the transmission and
turn 90 deg to the front, where they are quickly mated to rubber hoses
which extend to near the radiator, and again attach to short steel lines
coming from the radiator. Of course, can't forget the inevitable hose
clamps all over the place...upon close examination I found steel line
coming from the transmission to be severely crimped, close to the point of
being non-functional. I've tried making my own transmission lines in the
past without any success and have decided to either: (1) purchase a ready
made set, or (2) go to a custom system. Obviously, the ready made set
would be cheaper. Of course, since the 318 didn't come in 63, nobody makes
the correct lines. I was wondering if any of the later year lines 66 and
up would fit?
Brakes...I am converting from single to dual master cylinder and at the
same time, trying to still use the drum brakes front and rear. The fronts
have been changed to 11". What master cylinder should I ask for at my
local vendor? With the car came a distribution block (exact name escapes
me) for the brakes which mounts to the frame. It is pretty filthy from
neglect and I was wondering how to clean it properly inside and out. The
next project after that will be to plumb in a whole new system of brake
lines, replacing at that time, the dangerous lines to the rear, and
non-existant lines to the front. Any help you can provide this old guy
would sincerely be appreciated. Thank you.
