Don,
If you plug in the actual numbers the carb size comes up a little more 
conservative. At 6000 RPM ,for example, a 440 needs a 763 CFM carb. 750  
 for the street or 780 or 800 for the strip. A 340 comes in at 590 CFM.  
You have done a lot of testing so I know you know what your talking 
about. Comments on these figures? I'm thinking that the smaller setups 
get better throttle response for the street and also,in today's world,a 
little better mileage can't hurt.
