[AD removed for archives] ------------------------------------------------------------------- Did president Bush react quickly enough to hurricane Katrina? caad3P2bOyW3Na/Nationwide Survey ------------------------------------------------------------------- Jake, Just my opinion, but I would pull the yoke, pull the seal, pull the front bearing cone....insert a bearing shim(maybe about .020"), then reassemble the stack. This should reload the crush sleeve and be sure to retorque pinion nut to spec.If someone on the list has another way to do this I'm all ears...then I can remember this for my rearend work. Be sure to polish the seal surface on the yoke with 400 or 600 grit paper to get rid of some of the wear groove and establish a nice surface for the lip to ride on, it also goes without saying to lube the seal.
