hi,
to add to the discussion......
im my '63 BB car I am running a 70 BB b-body 4 speed with modern
driveshaft.
Fit is a non-issue.
I talked to Brewers (GREAT PEOPLE BY THE WAY)
Just change your transmission mount as follows.
64 and earlier used different crossmember mounts for 4speeds versus
autos. The "fastening" location pad is in different locations.
To mount a 66 and newer 4 speed into a 63-64 body(factory 4 speed
setup), change the trans crossmember from the 63-64 4 speed mount you
have to the 63-64 AUTO trans crossmember.
ALL 66 - up 4 speeds and Autos have the same mounting plate/location
on the actual trans case itself.
Then call Schumachers. They make a mount (about $75.00) that slides
right into the Auto trans crossmember. Their mount has a "LONGER"
reach on the mounting surface to fasten completely correct to the
late model trans.
This is a really easy conversion.
