Anyway my question is: The cord has 4 strands in it , as i understand that is common now. WHAT should I do with the fourth strand? somebody said to tie 2 strands together so in effect u would have two wires of 6 ga. each and one of twice that. Now will that work? And if it would work , which should u use the doubled wire for -ground , hot or neg. Or would it matter? I want to do this right as this is going to be about a 115 dollar extension cord by the time I am done with it.
