Yeah ohio was the same, just register it to your new car.  However, if
the car was simply crushed, and not declared "no longer operational"
to the DMV, the plates aren't clear and you can't use them.  The DMV
must have a record of the car going out of service to use the plates. 
Which means you need the old title, etc.  Pretty much impossible on a
lot of these plates around here, so they go for a lot of cash when you
can find ones.
