ok guys , gracias for the vac.leak detection advice, i used wd 40 and found no leaks. i am slowly bringing my coronet around one tiny step at a time. so i went and bought a vacumn gauge and hooked it up, my little 273 registered 16. is that an acceptable reading? its all stock. the needle moves ever so slightly back and forth, is that normal or should it be rock steady.?? i am going to set up the idle mixture on my rebuilt carb using the vacumn gauge method Gary Wilson told me about. Just for my ball park settings on my rebuilt carb it runs so much better, that accelerator pump lag is gone and it scoots out pretty good. still not running that great at idle circuit levels hope this vacumn gauge setting helps. BTW what all can one use a vacumn gauge for, besides just reading vacumn? i have heard it can tell u all sorts of stuff. I have never owned one in my life before. neal Zimmerman, eugene oregon
