so i was looking at my 340 block today and wondering why on earth did
they make the lifters pointing down instead of a straight attack at
the rocker arms. This creates an angle between the lifter and the
pushrod, doesnt seem too efficient. I believe the new R3 race blocks
have corrected this.
the only idea i can come up with is they were trying to locate the
cam higher up in the block ( for some reason). But it seems like a
not so efficient idea, seems like it would create a bit more
friction with that angle in there.
I was just so upset by this discovery i took my 340 block out to the
lake and kicked it off the tailgate of my truck!
