The top ring gap is the secret to making the Hyprs live. It must be in that range or higher as the heat in these onthe top ring causes a great deal of expansion and the ring ends but and literly jerk the top of the piston. The piston gets blamed but it is thering that caused thetrouble. This applys to hyper eutectics only . conventional pistons both cast and forged can run tight top ring gaps
