Don - that early factory 2x4 in line manifold for the 383's has 2 single  
plenums.  All right bank runners go to a common plenum on the right side of  the 
manifold, and left bank runners have their own common plenum on the left  
side, with a divider wall splitting the right and left banks. Kinda  like a 3" 
tall tunnel ram.  I haven't started tweaking this set up yet, but  I figure the 
carbs have to be non progressive.  If it don't pan out, I'll  probably go to 
the rpm with a 800 Eddy.  Joe
