In our town just having a Mopar can get you ostracised. I was never "in" anyway so I no longer care. Forget about snobs. They are in every club and organziation. Writers are the worst, violin people are fanatacitcal as well  and car folks are as clicky as a ball point pen. Enjoy your car. You have a rare piece. Forget about those who would say "we have arrived and stand guard to make sure you don't."  Instead find someone else in the same boat and help them enjoy the hobby as you show your cars together. Eventually the others will be out in the cold and you will be having the most fun. 
There is a poem on Poetry.com called "The Experts" It will help you feel better about all the nonsense.

62s here are very hard to find. The only one I know of anywhwere near us  is Scott Powell's beautiful 62 Plymouth  from nearby Northumberland County. You have made a good choice. Enjoy your car. Dont let them get you down.
