When I did my 452 heads, I just had the big valves put in and I blended the  
bowls back to the valve seats.  I cleaned up the flashing in the ports and  
gasket matched about 1/2" in.  I didn't touch the short radius as  everything 
I've read (including Herr Don's) showed no improvement in doing  so.  The valve 
guides were also blended.  I don't know if this will  help, but Mopar had cast 
some rough guides in the bowls.   Joe
