Bill,

I will check the rule book tonight, or I might be home for lunch, but as I
recall - as long as you still have the stock gas tank, you don't have to
have a rear mounted cut off switch. I run NHRA, and every local track can
be different. If you do have to run one, just take out one of the trunk
plugs
and route your cables through that. You can build a bracket off the bumper
brackets and everything will still be stock. Now remember with a Mopar,
your going to have to have the type of switch that cuts off the power from
the alternator also. I would highly recommend a battery box. You can get
a marine box, and it will work well. It should be vented to the outside.

Your nuts for not running two carb springs. It is funny, most racers will
not do a cockpit check, and visualize all the emergencies that might happen.
Like the story of the guy who ran off the track and killed himself because
he did not have a carb spring. If you don't think those things out, and
know all you have to do is to turn off the ignition switch, you will
kill yourself. You have to practice those things if your don't race all the
time. I spend at least an hour in the super comp car every year before
race season starts going over different types of disasters that could
happen, and what to do, what switch to hit etc. before I ever make my
first pass.

As for the carb, check the rule book for what ever stock class your
running, some allow a certin type of replacement carb, and some
don't. The stock thing is a whole different deal. In bracket racing no one
cares what carb your running. MT street slicks do qualify for street stock,
and I don't think the carb change would make you run with real bracket
cars. I assume when say stock, you mean street stock vs SS type
bracket racing.

Have any of you guys that have MaxWedge cars taken it to the strip to get
some time slips on it? Either original or clones.
What kind of tech did you have to go through?
Did they hassle you about not having an electric cutoff switch if you have
the battery in the trunk? Even if you have a manual fuel pump? (I'll be
damned
if I'll drill a hole in the back of my car just to satisfy tech.)
Did only the aluminum front end cars have the battery in the trunk or did
all MaxWedge cars have them located there?
What about having two return springs on the carbs? The factory ones didn't
have them.
And what about the console shifter? There is no reverse lockout on the
stock
ones.
Give me your input here. I plan on taking my car to the strip after it gets

warm again just to see what it will turn.
And I don't have the same carbs as the factory ones and I'm running Mickey
Thompson ET drag street tires that are supposed to be legal for the street.

Would my car be considered stock?

Thanks for your input,
Bill C.
