Re: 383 short block price?

I forgot to update that I did a quick review of 383s for sale online on ebay and came up with 20 listings ranging from $240 to $1,599. Plus shipping. Not all the ads were just the short block.

1971 Dodge Mopar 383 Engine
The motor comes from a garage sale and will be sold as is. Engine has no carburetor, exhaust manifolds or flywheel....
The engine is not seized and turns freely. I was told it was removed from a running car. However, I can not guarantee this information. It does look ready to be installed again. However, I would suggest to pull the heads for a closer inspection and peace of mind before installation.
Please note that the engine have not been inspected for any damage or whatsoever. Therefore, all parts are sold without any warranty or whatsoever. However, I took off the intake and it looks that it does have new valve springs and lifters installed. So it's possible, that the engine was rebuilt at one time. It also has Mallory double points ignition installed. ...
Buyer must take care of the shipping. Pick up anytime preferred.
The engine is strapped to a pallet. The dimensions are estimated at: 36"x36"x36". he weight is estimated at 500lbs.
If you need the item shipped from Naples, FL 34117, get a quote at shiply.com. You will then receive the offers from the various shipping companies by email. Wait a few days and prices go down drastically. The longer you wait, the cheaper it gets ... You can also try freightcenter.com.

1968 STD 383 Engine Block Cuda Barracuda Challenger Charger Roadrunner Coronet $900.00
1968 Dodge/Chrysler 383 block and main caps…it’s standard bore, so it’s the perfect starting point for a build. I had intended to build it so I had it cleaned and inspected by a local machine shop. They said it would clean up easily with .030. I’ve decided to go with a 440 so I won’t be using this engine. Local pick up only in Newton, Kansas.
