Your heater core will see the same pressure as your radiator which could be as high as 16psi depending upon the radiator cap so you might want to recheck your solder joint at a higher pressure. Also that solder repair doesn’t look great so I’d take it to a radiator shop and have them fix it. It won’t take them long and it shouldn’t cost much. It’s been my experience that many shops would do this while you wait and do it for free a a “good will gesture”.

Advanced Auto Store as well as others like NAPA sells an O-Ring assortment kit, this heater control valve O-Ring will be in there.

This is a restored heater core for my 64 sport fury. I hooked up an air source at 5lb psi to test it before putting it in the car. I don't actually know what pressure is going through the heater, but figured 5 lbs work work. I Found two leaks. I cleaned and soldered one (see pic; no not a pro but it doesn't leak anymore).
The other is a slow leak around the o ring. How have you dealt with this? O ring or some kind of sealant?
