Hi Bill-
Yes, Borgeson has a great power steering box for the Mopars, and only for the Mopar is it a lighter, smaller box. There are two ways to go about affixing the steering column, as mentioned, and I’ve done the install both ways and prefer the Bergman AutoCraft method… it was well worth it, too. You won’t have that sloppy, ‘cadillac’ one-finger steering, instead, a very firm steering feel with modern internals. The box is brand new, not rebuilt… just resplined and new brackets welded on.
To get your original box out, probably will have to raise the engine to snake that thing out, I think we raised mine a little, too, but can’t remember because it was so long ago. Once it’s out, the new box goes in with plenty of room. I would highly suggest getting Borgeson’s hose kit and fittings, as well. I ran -6 on my plumbing, so I got their custom fittings.
Tell Jeff at Borgeson that I sent you… call him, he’s awesome!
Thanks,

Subject: Borgeson power steering
HI Michael, I am a member of the 1962to1965Mopar mail list clubhouse and it was suggested I get in touch with you to ask about your experience with the Borgeson power steering in your car. I am getting ready to order the kit from Bergman for my 1964 Dodge Polara . I read the article you wrote about it and mostly wondering if you still recommend it. Also, wondering if you think I will have to raise my engine to remove the stock power steering box. My engine is a 383 with factory stock exhaust manifolds.
Hope to hear from you,
