Yes it sounds factory. A look at a rear seat in an original Mopar in a junkyard would confirm, like those Mopars at Wildcat 
in Sandy Oregon.

I think there is a diagram in the factory service manual about removing the rear seat but I don't know if it has the level 
of detail you seek.
