I just added reverse lights to my 61 Plymouth. The switch itself will not be there if the car didnt come with reverse lights. I got a switch from a dealer intall package, but it would have been very difficult to install after taking the thing apart and looking at it. Lucky for me, my friend had a push button assembly from a parts car that had factory reverse lights and we just switched the pushbutton assemblies. You might want to look for one for your 62 from a parts car. It is realitively easy to change. We did find the reverse wires exsited in the harness. I believe they were white.
