Bob,

I think, if I were you, I would get more detailed information on what you 
have there before attempting  fix anything. I'll be honest, every time I hear an 
"expert" engine builder use the term 3/4 cam, I get a mental picture of a guy 
that reads too many J.C. Whitney catalogs.
A good builder will ask you a million questions and document everything done 
before ever returning that motor. Here is a good site to check out.
