Hi,

I just joined the list, after buying a '62 Chrysler Newport wagon last week. Originally I thought it would just be a good winter "beater" that would satisfy my need for a running, driving "Astradome" car, but it's in too good a shape, outside of the body, not to restore. Here are some photos:

As far as I can tell, it looks like the exterior color is "Coral Gray", but I'm not sure what the interior color is called. Does anyone on the list have a '62 upholstery book, or happen to know what color that is?

The seats are all in perfect shape, except of course for the driver's seat. I need to get some of the vinyl, as well as the "basket weave" insert vinyl, and recover the front seat. Does anyone know of any sources for '62 material besides SMS? Or are they the only game in town?

I'd also appreciate any tips you might have for parts sources for these wagons. Is anyone reproducing the wagon taillight lenses? Are rear quarter patch panels available? (Or can anyone recommend a junkyard source?)

So far I'm having a ball driving the '62, and my wife and six sons love it, too. We just went out for lunch today with some friends and actually had 13 people in it (mostly kids) *comfortably*! 3 in the front, 4 in the rear, 2 between the 2nd and 3rd seats (lots of hidden room there!), and 4 little kids in the back.... ;-)

Thanks for any and all help!
