All,
Probably the best way to think about a Mail List, and this Mail List
Clubhouse, is to imagine it is an electronic version of your local
in-person Mopar Club.
At your local in-person Mopar Club meeting people speak up and address
one another by name, then discuss some Mopar topic. Lots of give and
take.
Same idea in a Mail List: addressing someone in the mail by name and
then going on with discussion about some Mopar related subject
represents discussion that a lot of people will benefit from.
The Mopar related subject matter in the message text is something that
everyone can follow along with and trumps the salutation.
For example:
Bob posts a message: "What's the gap to adjust my Poly 318 valve?"
Ted replies: "Bob, I just adjusted the valves on my Poly 318. Here's
what I did....."
This is a valid Mail List message. A lot of people on the Mail List
Clubhouse would like to read how Bob adjusted those valves. Such
information would help them when they had to do the job.
But what if Ted replied, "Bob, meet me at the Dodge dealer at the corner
of 4th and Smith at 3PM and I'll show you how to adjust the valves?"
This is an example of a private mail that should have only gotten sent
to Bob directly, not to everyone.
Hope this clarifies the distinction between private and Mail List
Clubhouse mail.
Thanks,
Clubhouse Administrator

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
