I just got done reading an article in one of the Mopar publications
about the high and mighty. Since I am building a hemi for my valiant and
the choice of intakes for the 241 is slim, the idea of building my own
intake crossed my mind. I was wondering, is there a science behind
building an intake, i.e., flow bench, if there is not, my Idea was to
build an individual runner  intake with a common plenum box with a
removable top so as to be able to run either dual 390cfm carbs or a
single 650 carb. Is there an optimal length for the runners and does the
plenum box have to be square or could it be an inverted triangle. I
looking for some feed back on this, I am a good fabricator and welder so
those parts of it are not a problem.  It will be a stock rebuild with a
mild port / polish and mild lift on the cam. I feel that the motor set
up like this will have enough power to propel the car at sufficient
velocity.
