My car was sold by a dealer in Missouri to the woman that sold it to me (for
1/3 of what she paid).
She thought the dealer did the restoral work. The seats and door panels are
close to what I think they should have looked like, but I don't have
original pictures to look at, off the dealer floor-wise. I have a dealer
brochure with the Satellite, Belv1 and 2, hardtop, sedan, wagon and
convertible in it but the only inside shots are of the Satellite convertible
with the imprinted seat covers and plaques on the door panels. Mine are
plain, tucked- upholstered with horizontal ribs. I do have a picture in
another brochure about "Summer Driving Fun" that shows a woman and a child
in the front seats of a Belv convertible but the door panels aren't ribbed.
Hmmmm.
It does show the extended armrests though.
So I probably got a set of hardtop or 4 door rears installed when the door
panels were recovered because the originals were trashed.

I do like the fact that I can push down the lock button and just slam the
door. Wish Ma had it originally.

More than likely:
There's no assembly mistake involved.
It's just that the front armrests are used more, and therefore, get worn
out, and or, destroyed.
The rears always are more plentiful.
So someone picked up the rears and used them on your cars.
They may have, or may not have been aware that there was a difference
between the two.
