I don't have kickdown linkage. I'm running a manual shift, reverse pattern
valve body in the trans. It's not that the trans shifts to soon, as I control
what RPM I shift at.
It's just that the gear set seem close. I'm not sure what set is in the
trans, I imagine it's a stock gear set. I thought that there should be a bigger
RPM drop between gears. It may be a good thing as it keeps it in the power
band better with the cam I'm using.
Haven't really looked at the tack to see how much the RPM is dropping,
probably at least 500, which isn't all that much. I'm just going by the seat of my
pants.
I can live with it just like it is, no problem. It seems more like a race
car than a street car but I've seen guys running upwards of a 1000 horsepower
engines on the street, if you've ever watched the TV show, "Rides", so I think
I can do it too.
