Hi Sean,
Yes, I think he sounds shady.  I recently installed a sure grip so I was
in the shop manual and it has only one way to rebuild a SureGrip.  See
if he owns a dial indicator and torque wrench.  :-)

I've got this guy who is rebuilding a sure grip unit he has, and then 
he's going to put it in my 1968 8 3/4 rear.  He says he is going to set 
it up "loose," like a four speed car, instead of "tight," like an 
automatic car.  He says that way, I won't tear it apart.  For this and 
other reasons, I'm starting to think this guy is a little shady.  Is he 
right?  I thought you just rebuilt the clutches and installed it.  Isn't

there only one way to do all that properly?  Thanks!
