Those big block 65 slip yoke transmissions are really getting tough to find.
The Imperials are popping up everywhere, and most people are passing them up because of the flanged output shaft.
It would make good sense to pick up the transmission, and change the outout shaft and extension housing .
It's a lot easier to find the output shaft and extension housing from a small block , than it is, to find the big block transmissions. They did use them on smallblocks from 273's and larger, if the buyer specified the heavy duty transmission option.
One day soon, you won't have the option.

The '65 Imperial has a bolt-in yoke. It is secured to the output shaft just like the ball-and-trunnion "yoke" is. The slip yoke is located at the center bearing as the Imperials have two-piece driveshafts. You might be able to bolt the ball-and-trunnion yoke on it and use it in a '64 and earlier big block application. But that would be about it.
