Hi Andy,

That's nice that Clevite's engineers think it's not necessary and won't affect THEIR bearing performance, but what about
the Chrysler engineers that put the oil holes there in the first place and the objects (piston, cylinder wall, wrist
pin) that they were designed to lubricate?  If it was me, I would return the bearings for ones that had the proper holes
or file a notch to match up with the hole.  That's my $0.02 anyhow.

I'd like to get a consensus here...I'm rebuilding a 40 year old 318 Poly, using the stock connecting rods.  As some of
you may have read, some of the rod bearings I have do not have the hole cutout for the oil squirter.
 
Clevite's engineers say that they (the holes) are not needed.  Since their bearings no longer have the holes in them, it
will be cutting off the oil flow/squirt from into the underside of the opposing piston.
 
Just wondering what YOUR thoughts are on this.  I figure the squirter holes in the rods are there for a reason - but
obviously Clevite doesn't think so.
