Just pay attention and be sure you back the brakes off. I always shoot some W-D 40 on the nut to help. I did get the gear puller, but got the 3-arm one (for 28 bucks). It's one that was recommended by someone who had just used it, apparently it works very well. I haven't pulled 'em yet, concentrating on the engine, and engine compartment right now. I'll let ya know when I do. Anyone know how hard the tapered axles are to re-install? Everyone talks about it being a massive headache to install them, I wonder how bad the reverse is?! Andy tduross1@xxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:tduross1@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Andy, Did you get that puller from JC Whitney? How does it work? I just did 1400 miles on my 64 Belv (Boston-Maine-Carlisle-Boston) and they were beginning to scrunge pretty bad. I spooned them up before I left but I can't see them because I haven't got the drums off yet. My chiltons has the exact same photographs as the web page and I posted on my tapered axles and got lots of good responses a month or two ago. I'll be needing one to do my rears pretty soon.
