Dave, you are correct. I just checked and the 2nd terminal was
grounded at the factory. They did it by removing the insulator between
the screw and the terminal spade. Now the screw grounds the spade right
to the alternator case itself. This is a good tip to pass on to others
who may end up with a 2 terminal alternator. Brian

didn't look good enough to show. The replacement I bought from NAPA has
2 field terminals. I've read other posts where members have said that
the 2 post units wouldn't charge for them. The corrective action
recommended by the Clubhouse members was to ground the 2nd terminal. I
didn't do that. I simply hooked up the normal terminal and the
alternator charged fine. My question is...do I have to ground the 2nd
field terminal to prevent the alternator from being damaged, or am I OK
